چکیده

In the past 20 years, many kinds of K antigens possessed by the organisms belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae were discovered and their characteristics clarified by investigators, especially by Kauffmann (1954) and his co-workers. Recently, two additional K antigens, a and were found by Stamp and Stone (1944) and Mushin (1949), respectively. They are distributed widely among organisms of various genera of the enteric bacteria. In the course of serological studies on the tribe Proteeae, several unknown masked antigens were explored. By further examination an antigen which would be a newK antigen was demonstrated in several organisms in the genera Proteus and Rettgerella (Kauffmann, 1956). In this paper, we deal with the details on the serological and physicochemical properties of the new K antigen.

Study on immunity of Leishmania major new crude antigen as a vaccine against leishmaniasis in out bred (resistant) and Balb/c (sensitive) mice

The aim of this study was to prepare a new formula of Leishmania major (L. major) crude antigen and evaluate its effect on immune system. For this purpose L. major promastigotes were cultured, harvested, washed, and resuspended in physiologic saline and the suspensions were dispersed in five equal batches. 0.1 ml of various doses of the cocktail antigen were injected intradermaly in three group...

بررسی تأثیر سرم موش حامله بر روی سلولهای دندریتیک در القاء تحریک لنفوسیت‌های T و تولید سیتوکین‌های IL-10 و IFN-γ Dendritic Cells and Antigen Specific T Cell Responses: Effect of Pregnant Mouse Serum

Background & Aim: Tolerance to the semi-allogenic fetal graft by the maternal immune system is a medical enigma that has stimulated investigations for a half of century. Several hypotheses have been proposed to explain the tolerance of mother to the fetus. The successful pregnancy is proposed and proved by many scientists to be a Th2 dominant phenomenon. This hypothesis is proved in most as...

O antigens of Proteus mirabilis and Proteus vulgaris strains isolated from patients with bacteremia.

During the period of 1971 to 1979, 172 Proteus mirabilis and 17 Proteus vulgaris strains were collected from blood cultures. Of these strains, 144 could be grouped into 25 O antigens. The most common antigens were O3, O23, O10, O30, and O24, which represented 46.1% of all strains. The O antigen distribution of strains isolated from blood cultures did not differ significantly from that of fecal ...

HA03 as an Iranian Candidate Concealed Antigen for Vaccination against Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum: Comparative Structural and In silico Studies

In the last decades researchers had focused on developing a vaccine against tick based on protective antigen. Recombinant vaccines based on concealed antigen from Boophilus microplus have been developed in Australia and Cuba by the name of TICKGARD and GAVAC (De La Fuente and Kocan, 2006). Further studies on this antigen have shown some extent of protection against other species (De Vos et al.,...
